Women Having Dogs Instead of Children - Tuesday January 06, 2015
But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith . . . men who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods which God has created to be grate-fully shared in by those who believe and know the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude. 1 Timothy 4:1, 3-4
No, women are not giving birth to dogs! But, they are choosing to have dogs instead of children. That is what the New York Post article, "More Young Women Choosing Dogs Over Motherhood," stated. Federal data shows that over the past seven years, the number of live births per 1000 women between ages 15 and 29 has dropped 9 percent. While in the past four years alone the number of small dogs has increased by six million! The article stated that women are not only having fewer children, but are also getting married later in life. There are also more single and unmarried women in their late 20s and early 30s.

The issue is not whether women should have dogs or not. God says, "Everything created by God is good." Also women who want children may be unable to or have a man or husband who refuses to take on that responsibility. The real issue is, which do we see as more valuable, dogs or children? "'I'd rather have a dog over a kid,' declared Sara Foster, 30, an equities trader who says her French bulldog, Maddie, brings her more joy than a child." The problem comes when we honestly believe that a dog can bring as much joy as a child. I believe this is a sign of the end times. As Christians, what can we do to turn the tide? We can show them the joy of having children and raising them to be responsible and loving members of society!
