What Do Unbelievers See? - Tuesday January 12, 2016
Now it was reported in the household of Pharaoh, "Joseph's brothers have arrived." It pleased Pharaoh and his servants. Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Say to your brothers, 'Do this: Load your animals and go to the land of Canaan! Get your father and your households and come to me! Then I will give you the best land in Egypt.'" Genesis 45:16-20 NET
Joseph's testimony was so powerful that Pharaoh was moved to greatly exalt this young man's extended family. Joseph had been faithful to Pharaoh in his job, which resulted in saving all of Egypt from famine and devastation. Now he was being rewarded for his wisdom, planning, and precise implementation. The quality of his work persuaded Pharaoh to show favor to him and his entire family. For an Egyptian to show respect to a Jew was a major cultural hurdle! It was miraculous to watch the racist barriers be broken by this young man's integrity. May our testimony on the job have the same impact on those who don't know Christ yet!

On the other hand, how many of the problems we face in bringing people to Christ can be easily traced back to us? What will our non-Christian boss or fellow employees think if we are consistently late to work, have a bad attitude, constantly complain, or don't work well with others? Our verbal attempts to persuade them to place their faith in Christ will fall on deaf ears.

Ask God to make you a person of integrity with those you work with. Pray for people to see Jesus Christ in you because of your honesty, good attitude, fairness, and hard work. Remember Joseph's example, and set that as your standard – for the sake of the gospel.
