Discovering God's Will - 4 - Wednesday January 27, 2016
Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Psalm 139:16 NIV
In choosing a field to harvest in, Ruth was walking right into her destiny that God had planned for her. Read today's verse from Psalm 139. We can't always be sure when discovering God's will, though, can we? When we're discerning God's will, we may not always know for sure if we're making the right decision. Here are three simple things you can do to help you discover God's will:

1. Commit your way to Him. You just say, "Lord, lead me. Help me, Lord. I want to make the right choice, but I don't necessarily know which one to make. Lord, help me." Commit your way to Him.

2. Have no unconfessed sin in your life. Be a man or woman who is walking in integrity and honesty before God. You can't be making wise choices if you've got some sin in your life that you're in bondage to. It's going to be difficult for you to hear God.

3. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit by living in the flesh. Many times in our Christian walk it's just a matter of making the right choice. It isn't that you have to have this mystical, spiritual experience to do what is right. You just do what is right.

When you're trying to discover God's will, and you don't necessarily know what to do, commit your way to Him, have no unconfessed sin in your life, and try to live in the Spirit. Then you will be in the center of God's will as best you know.
