And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Hebrews 10:24 NIV
Let me begin by stating that I am really afraid of heights. So while the words "huge water slide" might not evoke much of a reaction in you, to me they are a very big deal. This past summer my daughter Abby worked at a Christian camp, and all six Lewises visited for family weekend. The camp had zip lines, water blobs, horses, and about any fun activity you could imagine. We are not often all together, so it was fun to try them with each other.

Then someone had to suggest the water slide. I could have waited at the bottom for everyone, but I did not want to miss out on one minute of family time, so I started the long climb to the top. The very, very long climb. I was having my doubts with each step, but my kids and my husband kept encouraging me that they knew I could do it, and that they would be with me the entire time. When we reached the top, even the person working the slide chimed in that I would be so glad I decided to do it. I was wrestling with thoughts of turning around as my anxiety built, but suddenly I began focusing on the words of support instead of the fear. With eyes closed I took the plunge down. And I loved it!

Have you ever noticed how many "one another" verses there are in the Bible that speak about encouragement, support, and accountability? Someone in your life needs you alongside of them to beat an addiction or to conquer fears of sharing their faith or to persevere with a diet and exercise plan. Look for opportunities to lift one another up today.
