Wisdom's Call - Tuesday February 23, 2016
She [Wisdom] has sent out her maids, and she calls from the highest point of the city. "Let all who are simple come in here!" Proverbs 9:3-4 NIV
It was a fantastic idea... community people from our church would join hands with our college students to welcome Iowa State Students to campus the first week of school. Armed with portable tables, coolers of freezy-pops, surveys, tracts, and invitations to a fun fest at the end of the week, moms with kids, empty nesters, working folks, and grandmas and grandpas manned tables right alongside our Rock students.

At our particular table a young mom with an infant and a three-year-old were a huge hit and attraction. How can you resist taking a freezy-pop from an adorable three-year-old? At one point a gust of wind blew our table over, scattering our materials. Two young men dropped their backpacks and scrambled to help us retrieve our literature. This resulted in a friendly conversation which led to taking surveys and a meaningful exchange.

Later that day a close friend reminded me that she came to know Christ through an outreach table and survey much like ours. We don't begin to know the fruit of our week's labor. Hopefully many will choose to check out our church student group, the Lord, and the good news of the gospel!

Acts 17:26-27 instructs us that God made every nation of men, determining the times set for them and the exact places where they should live, that men might seek and perhaps reach out and find God. Our prayer is that our week of "wisdom calling," yes, even through the mouths of babes, results in many reaching out and finding God.
