But we had to celebrate and rejoice... Luke 15:32
When my daughter Jill turned twelve many years ago, we had a birthday party for her where we celebrated all the holidays in one. Her friends hunted for candy-filled Easter eggs, had a white elephant Christmas gift exchange, wrote down things they were thankful for, had Fourth of July sparklers, and more. I got to thinking how following Jesus is like experiencing all the holidays every single day.

New Year's Day: He gives us a new beginning. "Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new" (2 Corinthians 5:17 CEV).

Valentine's Day: He loves us totally and unconditionally. "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness" (Jeremiah 31:3 NIV).

Easter: He died on the cross to give us eternal life, hope, and joy. "But God demonstrates His own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8 NKJV).

Independence Day: He set us free from sin and death. "That the creation itself also would be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God" (Romans 8:21).

Thanksgiving: He delights in giving us good things. "Every good thing bestowed and every perfect gift is from above" (James 1:17).

Christmas: Jesus was the most amazing gift of all! "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16 NKJV).

We have so much to celebrate. Happy Holidays!
