Harvest - Thursday June 26, 2014
Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." Matthew 9:37-38 NIV
I recently received a very encouraging email from a former Latter Day Saint (Mormon) skeptic turned brother in Christ. In part he said, "Dear Bill, God has put you on my heart the last few days. I just wanted to tell you I am sorry and ask your forgiveness. Before I had a relationship with Jesus and knew Him as my Lord and Savior, I said a lot of stupid things about you and your ministry... But the scales have fallen from my eyes, and I now see the amazing work God is doing through you and your ministry at The Rock. I want to thank you for your faithful work and prayers... We serve an awesome God. God is using you in powerful ways, and I will keep you and your ministry in my prayers. I look forward to another visit and another opportunity to worship with brothers and sisters in Christ. God bless you, brother."

Wow! Through the true gospel of Jesus Christ God is making a difference and changing lives-for real! This is what it's all about! The fields are ripe for harvest! We just need more laborers and resources. There is much exciting work to do all over the world, and it isn't right for us to sit back and just look at the fruit-we need to go after it.

The harvest is ready to be picked, and God is calling us to reap! Now is the time! It's wide open, and we have a responsibility to get into the fields and work our tails off to share the love of Christ with as many as possible. What a blessing, honor, and opportunity! That's just what we should focus on doing. Won't you be a part of the reaping?
