For "All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever." 1 Peter 1:24-25 ESV
How do we know the Bible is true? The third evidence is that the Bible is indestructible. Do you know that different people and governments have been trying to destroy the Bible since its creation?

For example, there was a Roman emperor named Diocletian from AD 284 to 303. He started a number of cruel persecutions of Christians. All church meetings were forbidden. Church buildings were torn down. Every copy of the Bible was ordered to be burned. Imagine this-there was a point in human history when the leader of the known world tried to kill Christianity. But 1,700 years later, he is gone, his empire is gone, and the Bible is still here.

Or Voltaire, the French philosopher and skeptic, said, "One hundred years from my day, there will not be a Bible in the earth except one that is looked upon by an antiquarian curiosity seeker." He died in 1778, over 200 years ago, yet the Bible is thriving, stronger than ever. God wins. The Bible is indestructible.

Author Rick Warren wrote, "The Bible is the most despised, derided, denied, disputed, dissected, and debated book in all of history." This Bible has been under attack for centuries-for everything you can imagine. Yet the Bible is still the most read, most published, and most translated book in the world.
