He is Able - Thursday July 30, 2015
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 ESV
In 1999, The Rock Church's first service humbly started in Pastor Bill Young's living room in Sandy, Utah. In 2003, we launched our first church plant in Salt Lake City. In 2007, God sent us off again as we planted a new church in Provo, Utah.
Over the months of 2014 to February of 2015, 60 faithful saints and their children were praying and preparing for the next "big thing" God was doing in our lives. Friday, February 6, was another awesome milestone for The Rock Church-the Taylorsville location had its Grand Opening on the west side of Salt Lake Valley.
As I sit back and ponder these events, I am in complete awe of what God has done through His local church and in the lives of His people. It's almost unbelievable that God would start with a couch full of people in a living room and expand this into hundreds and hundreds of people serving alongside one another, stretching between four locations from Salt Lake City to Provo!
As I meditate on this verse in Ephesians, I am reminded that God has promised to do more with our lives than we could ever ask, more than we could ever think or imagine. He is the God of wonders who works through His people throughout all generations!
Be encouraged and excited-God has many more amazing plans in the works. "To him be glory in the church!"
