As the host of heaven cannot be numbered and the sands of the sea cannot be measured. . . . Jeremiah 33:22 ESV
The Bible is not a scientific textbook, but it speaks of science. The Bible is scientifically accurate. Take a look at today's verse. Before the invention of the telescope, you could look up at the sky and count the stars. It might take you a while. But now that we have the telescope, we know with certainty that they cannot be numbered.

Look at Job 26:7: "He stretches out the north over the void and hangs the earth on nothing" (ESV). When this was written many people believed the world was flat and it rested on pillars or on mythical creatures. Instead, the Bible speaks of it resting on nothing! It is hanging in space!

Psalm 8:8 says, "The birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas" (ESV). Matthew Maury lived from 1806 to 1873. He discovered these pathways, or currents, in the sea based on a clue found in Scripture. He is considered one of the founders of the science of oceanography. Charting these paths allowed vessels to move far more safely and efficiently!

How about the sanitation laws presented in Leviticus 13-15, which state that houses with signs of mold, or harboring sick people, need to be cleaned, repaired, or destroyed to prevent the spread of disease? Or how about verses that talk about washing after touching a dead body? Doctors use to touch dead bodies and then go directly to deliver babies! Good hygiene changed the course of modern medicine. It was in the Bible thousands of years ago.

These are just a few examples. The Bible spoke of this thousands of years before science understood its benefits!
