Dream Big - Wednesday October 09, 2013
But the noble man makes noble plans and by noble deeds he stands. Isaiah 32:8 NIV
To finish life well we need to have huge expectations of God and dream big! Can you imagine what God could do in your life? Think big! When was the last time you wrote something like this in your journal? "God, I am going to trust You to do something big. I am going to write my dream down with a Bible verse and a date next to it, and pray until something happens."
God is in control, and we can trust Him, even if He says "no." We can trust Him enough to know that He knows what He is doing. My kids want things all the time, and I say "No." Can we go to Disneyland? No! I don't have a problem saying "no" to my kids, and God doesn't have a problem saying "no" to us either. "God, can you reach the whole world today?" "That's so cute, but no!"
Are you believing God for anything bigger than what your flesh can do? John 5:20 says, "For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed." This is not "name it, claim it." God isn't our vending machine in the sky. But I think He wants us to apply faith and trust that He can do amazing things.
Mark Twain said, "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
Let's not stop dreaming big about what God could do with all of us Faithwalkers.
