Never Give In - Thursday October 10, 2013
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 NIV
Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6 NIV
I'd like to give you one final key to finishing well: follow God relentlessly. Determine to never quit! Just make that decision. As the old hymn goes, "I have decided to follow Jesus. No turning back. No turning back." Are you willing to run hard for God? Make a decision today to finish the race and never quit.
Addressing British people toward the end of World War II, Winston Churchill said, "Never give in, never give in, never; never; never; never-in nothing, great or small, large or petty-never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense."
There's no glory in quitting. You might have a lot of friends quitting the Christian race. Sometimes in the Christian life we're out of focus, we're running the wrong way. We're going to have friends and even pastors who disappoint us. But you've got a Coach in heaven who wants to put your picture up in the hallway. He's going to say, "Well done, good and faithful servant"-if you don't quit.
