The Same God Who Led You In-1 - Thursday November 22, 2012
For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord gives grace and glory; no good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. Psalm 84:11
I couldn't believe my ears! A message streamed from my radio that was once my private lesson from God. Now NewSong was singing to the world, "The same God who was with you then is with you now. The same God who led you in will lead you out." ("The Same God" on One True God album, 2011).

All of us face deserts at different times in our lives. God brings challenges into our lives for His good purposes, then promises that He will be with us throughout the challenge, and ultimately assures us that He will deliver us in the end. The same God does all three!

In one of the blue seasons of my life, with a friendship on the rocks and clueless how to solve it, a poster on my wall shouted today's verse-that God had already filtered my loss through His gracious shield of protection; it would somehow be good for me. God had led me in.

God said He chose a wilderness route for the Israelites so they wouldn't be tempted to retreat back to Egypt and because the other route would have meant immediate war. God brought them into a desert of hardship out of mercy (Exodus 13:17-18). The wilderness gave Him a plat-form to show care. He gave miraculous manna and water. He knew this experience could protect them from a pride-trap in the future (Deut. 8). God led with love.

This same good God leads us into deserts. You know that someday you will see good fruit from what He has allowed, so trust in His leading today!
